The new Compute Module is 10 times more powerful than its predecessor

Today its successor the Compute Module 3 was shown, with a performance 10 times higher. The type of market for this product is industrial applications that require significant power, such as some NEC smart TVs.

This one features the quad-core 2837GHz Cortex-A53 CM1.2, 1GB of RAM and a 4GB eMMC storage module. They've also released a "Lite" version that, instead of internal storage, includes the pins needed to solder in a micro-SD or eMMC card reader. Both modules can be swapped directly with the originals, for a hassle-free upgrade.
