From Computex 2017, the first images of the new motherboards with socket SP3r2 (LGA 4094) arrive, to support the new AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors.
With the arrival of the new AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors , motherboard manufacturers took advantage of Computex 2017 to showcase the first boards supporting AMD Ryzen Threadripper. Specifically, we saw motherboards from ASRock and GIGABYTE.
These motherboards, as we already named, have support for the new high-performance processors from AMD. The AMD Ryzen Threadripper have up to 16 cores and 32 threads, Quad-Channel support for RAM memories and up to 64 PCIe 3.0. It should be noted that the three motherboards, apart from the 24-pin ATX connector, only have an additional 8-pin EPS connector for power. This could indicate that the platform would be more energy efficient compared to the competition.
GIGABYTE X399 Aorus Gaming 7
This first GIGABYTE board has the same distribution, the AMD SP3r2 (LGA 4094) socket, with the 8 DIMM slots for DRR4 RAM memories, which seem to have a metallic reinforcement, as well as the 4 PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots. . It incorporates 3 ports in M.2 32 Gb / s format, one of them with a metal plate, for heat dissipation.

ASRock X399 Professional and ASRock X399 Taichi
Both boards have the SP3r2 (LGA 4094) socket, located between 8 DIMM slots for DDR4 RAM. They also have 4 PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots, with an apparent metallic reinforcement. One U.2 32 Gb / s port, three M.2 32 Gb / s ports, and 8 SATA 6 Gb / s ports, of which at least 4 go direct to the CPU for lower latency.
