Sony CEO confirms company works on PlayStation 5

It is confirmed by the CEO of Sony that at least we will see the PlayStation 5 and that it will carry 'new generation hardware'

It is not that it is new information, because it is something that is only a matter of time, but the CEO of Sony, Kenichiro Yoshida during an interview with The Financial Times has reported the launch of the PlayStation 5 console in the (indeterminate) future. note that the name is not official, but Sony is not very to break the head with the names and usually opts for the easy thing, change the number and something else.

Sony reports that they will release the PlayStation 5 in the future.

Kenichiro in the statements given has placed special emphasis on the hardware part, highlighting that it is a very important section, even making it clear that 'it is necessary to have next-generation hardware' with the intention, without a doubt, of passing ahead of Microsoft who already announced that it would launch at least another generation of consoles

This statement shows that console manufacturers still see a future for this type of device, despite the fact that analysts indicate that the industry is going towards gaming in the cloud that makes dedicated hardware completely unnecessary, highlighting that dedicated hardware is much more expensive and less powerful. It seems that they are still releasing another generation of toasters until cloud gaming becomes popular.

Regarding the point to the 'new generation hardware', rumors have already emerged a long time ago, it seems that from within Sony that they pointed to the development of an APU based on the AMD Zen architecture that gives life to the AMD Ryzen. It is mainly aimed at Zen cores combined with Navi graphics in 7nm that would be the first graphics architecture from AMD that could guarantee 4K @ 30FPS in any game and that will arrive at the beginning of 2019.
