PlayStation 5 integrates an RDNA 1.5 graphics card, a hybrid between RDNA and RDNA2
The new generation of consoles, with each passing day, deflate more and more. For weeks they have insisted on the benefits of the SSD brought from Hogwarts, without talking much about the processor and graphics. This has seemed very strange to us, but little by little data are being known that would reveal the reason for the silence. In the end the graphics of the PlayStation 5 is AMD RDNA 1.5, not RDNA 2.
Spider-Man Miles Morales was recently revealed to run in 4K @ 60FPS in a Performance Mode, come on, with graphics clippings. Several games have already said 4K @ 30FPS at best and with a lot of optimization. Nor is there much talk of Ray Tracing, knowing only one game that uses this technology.

Although it is not very clear what RDAN 1.5 means, but we get an idea. Possibly an RDNA similar to the RX 5600 at best with support for Ray Tracing. So we will have Ray Tracing at half throttle on the consoles, possibly with dedicated hardware but to a bare minimum. Come on, they have taken and pressed the Ray Tracing under pressure.
The information regarding the GPU comes from Rosario Leonardi, a Sony engineer. Leonardi stated that after testing Ghost of Tsushima, she described the PlayStation 5's graphics architecture as "an intermediate path between RDNA 1.0 and RDNA 2.0, with some unique features." This message, which was initially private, has been leaked publicly.
So much hype and cymbal for assembling PC hardware, some hybrid hardware for adopting a PC technology, and little else. But the most bloody thing, after years of SSD in PC, now they come to sell us the motorcycle of the great capacities of SSD that have not exploded in PC because they have not wanted to?
Comment from Rosario Leonardi, Sony Engineer
I know you are curious, but I am legally bound to say anything that is not already public. As you know, the architecture of the PlayStation 5 is a middle ground between RDNA 1.0 and RDNA 2.0, with some unique features. The PlayStation 4 Pro was also a strange hybrid between the GCN2 and GCN4.
RDNA2 is a commercial abbreviation to simplify the market, otherwise GPUs with completely random features would come out and it would be difficult for the average user to choose. For example, support for RayTracing is not present in any AMD GPU currently on the market. (…) The GPU of the PlayStation 5 is unique, not classifiable as RDNA 1, 2, 3 or 4.
Clarification by Rosario Leonardi, Sony Engineer
It's based on RDNA2, but it has a few extra features and, I think, one less. That message went wrong, I was tired and I shouldn't have written the things I wrote
