Nintendo recommends not using the Nintendo Switch in a heat wave

In Spain and many other places in the world, heat waves are taking place with temperatures higher than normal. Normally, electronic devices have cooling systems to withstand their use during these high temperatures, but it does not seem to be something that Nintendo thought of when designing the Nintendo Switch, because they recommend not playing it for practically the entire summer in the case of Spain.

Due to high temperatures in Japan that are taking place, Nintendo has had to issue a warning about the use of the console in high temperatures. The notice indicates that recommend not using it if temperatures are above 35ºC.

Playing the Nintendo Switch in summer is not recommended

To put this notice in context, it comes from the Japanese division. They are suffering temperatures that exceed 31º, so the notice has been issued preventively in the event that they exceed these temperatures. But as we commented at the beginning of the news, many countries have had days with more intense heat waves and exceed 35º C, so the announcement for them comes a little late and implies that it is possible that it is not advisable to play the Nintendo Switch in All summer.

This recommendation would be due to the compact nature of the console. Making it portable involves design it to be small, which makes the cooling, in what is a tablet with a dedicated graphics, have tight ventilation and cooling.

Nintendo Switch hardware.0.0

Although Nintendo has not said that the Nintendo Switch can be damaged, it will most likely automatically turn off to prevent any damage to its components. It is something common that happens in all electronic devices of have a sudden shutdown system to avoid overheating.

Nintendo's message reads as follows:

If you use the Nintendo Switch in a hot place, the temperature of the main unit may rise. Please use it in a place from 5º C to 35º C. Also, if the input and output ports are blocked, the temperature of the main unit may rise. Improves air around intake and exhaust ports. If the temperature of the main unit gets too high, it can go into sleep automatically to protect the main unit. When playing in TV mode, install the Nintendo Switch Dock in a place that does not retain heat. If there is any foreign material or dust in the air inlet/outlet port of the main unit, remove it with a vacuum cleaner. For your safety, do not disassemble the main unit.
