Now the cooling system of the PlayStation 5 has been revealed, but from the development model. This development kit has 6 fans for cooling.
For several weeks there has been considerable discussion about apparent temperature issues with the PlayStation 5. The development kit includes six fans to improve heat dissipation. Apparently, all the fans would exhaust hot air, so cool air would enter through the central area.

We can see that the development kit has two large spaces for the different components. One of the zones would have a dense aluminum radiator in the left zone cooled by three fans. The heat dissipates through the left side, the air escaping through the integrated 'gills'. The right area would have other components, such as the power supply, cooled by three other fans.
An electronic device (10) has a plurality of cooling fans (15) to supply air to a heat sink (30). The plurality of cooling fans (15) create air flows (Fh) that pass through the heat sink (30) from a first side (H1) of the heat sink (30) to a second side (H2) of the heat sink heat (30). The heat sink (30) is arranged obliquely in the left-right direction and in the front-rear direction of the electronic device (10). An outer member (40) has an inlet port (41i) formed along the first side (H1) of the heat sink (30) and oblique to the front-rear direction and the left-right direction.

The supposed final design of the console is much more closed and the cooling system would be very different, hence the rumors. So compacting the design would affect the size of the radiators, which would be seriously impaired. It is also quite possible that fans have been removed, which would generate Thermal Throtting and therefore, losing performance.
Only Sony can clarify if the console has thermal problems and the cooling design of the PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, it seems that they are not very keen to show us the console.
