PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X could be delayed to 2021 due to coronavirus
A true psychosis has been installed regarding the coronavirus originating in China. Some semiconductor factories have closed due to understaffing and to prevent more workers from becoming infected. The Chinese market is practically paralyzed and this could seriously harm Sony and Microsoft. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X could be delayed due to the virus.
Foxconn has had to close due to the coronavirus, something that has caused a problem in the production of hardware. The company makes components for consoles, iPhones, DRAMs, and other semiconductors. Nintendo has confirmed that the Switch, due to the closure of Foxconn, will delay the shipment of units to Japan. The next affected could be Sony and Microsoft.

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X may be delayed
The situation is so complex that the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X could go to 2021 due to lack of supplies. Initially, both Sony and Microsoft would have planned to launch their consoles in December of this year to exploit Christmas to the fullest. It should be noted that Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo consoles are mainly manufactured and assembled in China, including the SoCs for these consoles.
Not surprisingly, the big three console makers spend a lot on production and the supply chain. Everything is so tight that this problem could cause a serious mismatch in manufacturing and personnel costs. The coronavirus could break a very tight process and could spell disaster of epic proportions.
Currently the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are in pre-production, so at the moment it is not a big problem. Of course, both Sony and Microsoft are getting nervous about the possible delays that may occur. It could even be the case of an increase in console prices due to the problems caused by coronavirus.
