Sony drops the PlayStation Classic Mini to $25 because nobody wants that crap

The Sony PlayStation Classic Mini are not sold or by chance and the price has been lowered again, now costing only $ 25.

The launch of the Nintendo NES Mini was an unprecedented and resounding success. It performed so well that when units sold out, they could be found on the resale market for up to five times their original price. Given this success, many have tried to replicate it, with varying degrees of success. Sony is one of those that has attempted to replicate this success, but has failed. All because the PlayStation Classic Mini is rubbish.

The console hit the market for 100 euros. A few months after its launch, due to zero sales, it was lowered to 60 euros. Shortly after it was lowered to 40 euros. Even in mid-June it was lowered to 30 euros. Despite these laughable prices, nobody wants the Sony console.

Sony downgrades the PlayStation Classic Mini because nobody wants them

Said Sony console in the United States can be purchased for $ 25. This means that the console in a few months has seen its price reduced by 75%. The console went on sale in December of last year and has passed completely without pain or glory. It is unknown how many units of the console were made and if this price is below the manufacturing costs of the same.

And is that Sony's attempt to replicate the success of Nintendo has been a real botch. The console, for the hardware it has, has an extremely high price. But the game catalog is Pyrrhic and is only in English. To this is added that it uses an open source emulator, which by the way, Sony has sued for the creation of the emulator.

The PlayStation Classic Mini is so extremely bad that it underperforms the original 1996 console. Sony has been thinking more about making cash at all costs than offering a good product. Just look at the NES Mini, which was $ 60, had a good catalog, and the hardware was pretty good.
