Remedy also says that the PlayStation 5 is better than the Xbox Series X

A few weeks ago, it was revealed that several studies indicated the PlayStation 5 was superior to the Xbox Series X. Crytek was the first to openly state this, through one of its engineers. Now, Remedy Entertainment, known for titles like Control and Alan Wake, has joined this chorus of opinion. These statements are causing quite a stir.

On paper, the PlayStation 5 console is point-for-point inferior to the Xbox Series X. Sony's console has a smaller GPU, lower CPU clock, or lower SSD capacity. It gains in memory work frequency and SSD transfer speed. Note that there are rumors of thermal problems of the Sony console.

Remedy also sees the PlayStation 5 better

Thomas Pooh, Director of Communications at Remedy Entertainment, was interviewed by PlayStation Magazine . Pooh stated that the PlayStation 5 console is the better of the two. According to him, the key difference lies in the SSD, which is faster, thus benefiting the game Control.

A deeper system of destruction, richer and more detailed worlds and improved project quality, such as the instant reboot after death [our character revives without waiting for load times]. Thomas Pooh, Director of Communications at Remedy Entertainment

Such statements are a bit strange, as this is not happening on computers with SSD drives. It should also be noted that the Xbox Series X also has an SSD, yes, somewhat slower on paper.

We tend to forget that it is not only about getting the best graphics in games with a new console, but that the overall user experience and console play will improve significantly.

The PlayStation 5 is all about getting a really fast and smooth gaming experience and a hardware foundation that is easy for us developers to use, which is great because it allows us to harness the power of the hardware more quickly.

Thomas Pooh, Director of Communications at Remedy Entertainment

Pooh emphasizes that visual quality is not the important thing, he prefers a console that allows to develop games easily. Something that suggests that we will see not very advanced graphically and that RayTracing could become testimonial.
