Sony promises better PS5 stock in 2023 ahead of PSVR2 launch

If there is something that is representative of PS5, it is its lack of stock that seems to be being fixed, and Sony is aware of it. Now they say it will soon be much easier to find stock PS5 at retailers. After two years of supply problems, Sony thanked fans for their patience for "cope with unprecedented demand” since the launch of PS5 in November 2020.

Sony is confident that the supply issues have been resolved, so has released a new PS5 announcement recorded as if it were a news broadcast, with references to games. It's also working with creators on social media to further promote PS5 and is running a series of "live from PS5" promotions.

PSVR2 will be a great release for PS5

This new commercial push comes on the heels of the launch of the new DualSense Edge controller and weeks before the launch of Sony's PlayStation VR2. It will arrive on February 22 for $549,99. The PSVR2 headset bills itself as a major improvement over the original, with an OLED display, 110-degree field of view, and 4K HDR support. It's also compatible with up to 120Hz for smoother frame rates and gameplay.

It will deliver more than 30 games in its launch window, including compatibility with Gran Turismo 7, Resident Evil Village and Horizon Call of the Mountain. For many, the release of a VR headset may not sound like a major release, but with the new technology and hardware on PS5, PSVR2 aims to be a major leap in the quality of VR as a gaming platform.

In addition, we have spent years with Las Meta Quest, Valve Index and many other virtual reality headsets, although some are a Trojan horse to sneak users the Metaverse. Virtual Reality on consoles began in the previous generation with the first PSVRs, and since then developers have been experimenting and testing what works when making games for Virtual Reality, with renowned examples such as beat Saber, which is the killer Virtual Reality app itself. For this reason, Sony considers this type of launch important, since would allow users to have a complete VR system for about 1.100 euros, and that incidentally serves as a console.
