Ethereum reduces the reward per block and says no to ASIC Resistant

Ethereum's new refusal to implement the Resistant ASIC but on the contrary, the EIP-1234 is approved, which reduces the block reward from 3 ETH to 2 ETH.

In recent weeks, we've heard a lot about Bitcoin and the SEC's proposed ETFs, which, if approved, would easily send BTC's value soaring to $30.000. So far, nothing has materialized, but while all this was happening and the spotlight was on this and other projects vying for market share, Ethereum has taken another step toward centralizing its mining operations.

Ethereum votes in favor of centralizing mining via PoW.

Yesterday there was an internal meetup in Ethereum on the implementation of new elements and protocols, especially aimed at moving from PoW to PoS. One of the things that will change next October that is included in the Constantinople Roadmap will be to implement EIP-1234 that implements changes in the block reward from 3 ETH to 2 ETH per block to control inflation. We must give thanks as one of the proposals was to go from 3 ETH to 1 ETH per block (EIP 858).

Increase the difficulty of the reward obtained by miners and that can discourage mining of those who use graphics cards in favor of ASICs. It was expected that an understanding would be reached and the Resistant ASIC would also be implemented, which will allow to increase the difficulty for the ASICs and would eliminate the potential centralization so that the same thing as with Bitcoin and Bitmain does not happen.

We do not know the reason for the refusal, but the consequences are clear with Bitcoin and it is that nowadays no one at home can dedicate themselves to mining BTC due to the high difficulty due to the centralization of mining in large farms. Ethereum could be the next to suffer from this problem all because Bitmain is betting on making ASICs for everything. Zcash already voted no to ASIC Resistant and the negative is in Ethereum. What will be the next cryptocurrency that will have ASIC and will end up centralized?
