John McAfee announced an encrypted chat app called TeleGHOST

Well-known cryptocurrency advocate John McAfee recently announced an upcoming encrypted chat app called TeleGHOST. Based on the GHOST blockchain, it will allow full integration with the widely used encrypted messaging app, Telegram.

The former antivirus software mogul published McAfee has shared details on Twitter about the new encrypted chat app that will employ the GHOST blockchain called TeleGHOST. It will be a “decentralized private network that can communicate anonymously.” And it will be used “for much more than just sending numerical values ​​back and forth.” The announcement says that TeleGHOST will not prompt users to migrate from one chat app to another while losing all their history in the process. McAfee’s upcoming app “will have full integration with the Telegram network as a hybrid solution.”

TeleGHOST private chat app

Users will be able to log in with their existing credentials and access the same contacts, groups, and settings. The GHOST blockchain network will provide additional functionality over Telegram that will allow users various options. These include accessing private chats, sending and receiving the GHOST token, starting private groups, and more features to be announced soon.

TeleGHOST will be available for Android, iOS, PC, macOS, and Linux. While the team behind it has not specified the precise release date. The statement promises that TeleGHOST is a “high priority item on our roadmap.” McAfee initially announced the new GHOST privacy coin in April. Although accusations immediately occurred that he and his team have plagiarized the technical document of another similar project, GHOST continues its development. The team recently published a new whitepaper, with the website reporting that the mainnet will arrive on June 22.

Additionally, McAfee indicated that another privacy feature is coming, which will help turn regular smartphones into “untraceable” devices that keep users anonymous. Called the GHOST Cellular Data Service, it is already in beta and is scheduled to launch in September 2020.
