CyberConnect2 prepares a new game based on an anime

CyberConnect 2 is already working on adapting an anime to a video game. You cannot say anything for confidentiality reasons.

We know the developer CyberConnect2 for making video games based on the Naruto Shippuden anime for several years, specifically the Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm. She also did the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure ones and is doing Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. And now she's working on another Ultimate Ninja Storm-style title.

More anime games like Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm

In a recent Q&A session with fans, President Hiroshi Matsuyama was asked if they had another Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm-style anime-based game in development. They didn't count Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot because that's more of an action RPG than a fighting game.

And Matsuyama's response was positive, although he kept secrecy. He said that he could not answer that question like that because they already have an idea of something they wanted to do for a long time and are developing it, which encourages us to wait for an announcement in the future, and hope it will be soon.

That answer encourages us to think that it is an anime series perhaps not so well known or popular and that they are particularly excited to work on it. Knowing that Hiroshi Matsuyama is an avid consumer of Japanese animation, we can hope it is either a game that you have recently been excited about or a classic franchise. It only remains to wait for it to be announced in a few months so that we can see what it is about. Very surely they will get serious about developing it after finishing Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, which will be released at the beginning of next year, in January for all territories.
