The city of Dallas will have delivery robots

The city has approved a pilot program with the Marble company that will allow the marble company to deploy a series of autonomous delivery robots on the streets for six months.

The issue of autonomous robots is something that comes to mind since we are looking to find a profitable way of doing all the services, to which we must add appearances in series like Black Mirror. While Amazon's drones don't quite come true due to complicated laws, terrestrial robots may be a closer possibility.

This is how the city of Dallas, Texas, which it has approved together with the company Marble, since for six months they are allowed to deploy a whole swarm of autonomous robots as delivery men. It thus joins Alington and Austin, two other cities in Texas, which have initiated pilot projects, while in San Francisco they have strongly opposed this measure, something strange coming from Silicon Valley

Delivery robots are getting closer and closer

Unlike other means of transport, these robots move down the road, which will do that instead of sharing space with other cars, they will do it with pedestrians. In the United States, this sector is being quite critical of Silicon Valley, especially due to the services of electric scooters that do not have as much space to walk due to the fact that they are parked anywhere.

However, the data collected by the Marble robots will be shared with the city with the intention of doing better urban planning to understand the optimal paths to go from point to point for pedestrians. In addition, the test will only be limited to a series of streets, so it is to be expected that they do not disturb too much.

About the Marble robots, they are small vehicles with reinforced metal so that their shipments are not stolen. In other pilot programs they have collaborated with food delivery services like Yelp Eat24 sporadically until it is fully legalized and they can make more shipments of more diverse products.
