Manufacturer DeepCool today announced that it will provide free mounting kits for Intel's upcoming LGA1700 platform. The new mounting kits will allow customers to continue to use their existing DeepCool CPU coolers on the new 12th generation Intel Core Alder Lake CPUs.
Additionally, current and future DeepCool coolers will also include the new mounting hardware in the future. Intel's new CPU will follow a new hybrid architecture that will be more powerful than previous generations thanks to the use of efficient high-performance cores.
DeepCool Prepares for Intel Alder Lake Series
This new Intel architecture will have a direct impact on the appearance of the CPU, as Alder Lake has
with 500 additional contacts compared to its predecessors. Go from 1200 to
1700 contacts and due to this increase the socket has been greatly enlarged.
The heat sink that DeepCool prepares has a larger surface than before and, above all, it is no longer square, but rectangular. Although this new generation of Intel CPUs promises even higher performance, at the moment no available CPU cooler is compatible with the change out of the box.
To aid in the transition, DeepCool is releasing a mounting upgrade kit that will be compatible with the LGA1700 socket. The kits will feature a new back plate and corresponding mounting jumpers for the plinth and will include all the components required to perform the installation. To receive a free mounting kit, you will need to contact DeepCool support with proof of purchase of a compatible DeepCool cooler and LGA1700 processor or LGA1700 motherboard to reserve. Mounting kits
