They discover how the 3DMark Time Spy software scores can be modified, among others, something that seems to be is in the process of being solved by the different developers of these benchmark software.
It could be that we are facing the end of benchmarks, as we know them. The professional overclocker, Ronaldo Buassali, who worked for the KFA2 company, has posted a video on YouTube, where he demonstrates how easy it is to cheat on different benchmark software, such as 3DMark Time Spy. Buassali shows us how some of the controller's parameters and settings can be modified to allow the software to score higher than the benchmark should actually give.
Modifying the benchmark scores is quite simple, since these modifications are based on the Level of Detail or LOD for the acronym in English, something that allows any user to change the data, as they see fit. If this parameter is modified, it does not immediately mean that the score is modified. The trick is that the moment the configuration is modified, a few seconds before the benchmark is completed, 3DMark's Time Spy in this case, finishes the job and starts the validation of the score.
The overclocker shows us in the video, as in a first round of benchmark, it offers a score of 12.638 points in the total and 13.278 points in the graphic section, without any modifications. On the contrary, after carrying out this modification of the parameters, the score rises to 12.951 points in general and 13.800 points in the graphic section. It seems that the problem affects Futuremark, Unigine and Allbenchmark, but the specialized media Videocardz has reported that the bug is in the process of being solved, after KFA2 has reported it to the benchmark developers. There is no data on when there will be a patch.
