Doom Eternal: delayed to early 2020

Doom Eternal was due out this year, in a few weeks ... But it has been delayed to ensure quality, and the Switch version will be further delayed.

This year was to be the release of Doom Eternal, the sequel to the 2016 Doom reboot that surprised many players. In an age of cinematic first-person shooters, this reboot gave us the usual Doom visually and mechanically adapted to the new times with a lot of gore. But this year its sequel will not come out.

A delay, but it comes with Doom 64

Bethesda has had to announce that they want Doom Eternal to be of the highest quality possible but that they have to delay it to meet their expectations. Its new release date will be next March 20. Although it will be for the PC, Xbox One and PlaYStation 4 versions because the Nintendo Switch version is going to be delayed a bit longer when it was promised that it would come out on a par with its older console counterparts.

To make the wait a little less bitter, they have confirmed that they will be giving the new port of Doom 64 as a pre-order gift to everyone who pre-orders Doom Eternal. In addition, the release date of that port will also be March 20.

In the case of Nintendo Switch, both games will be released at the same time which also delays the relaunch of Doom 64 on Nintendo Switch. The delay when it was so close to hitting the market is not good news but they insist that they do it for the quality of the game. They have also confirmed an Invasion mode in which we can invade other players 'games as if we were demons, strongly inspired by the Dark Souls online mode in which we invade other players' worlds to challenge them in duels.
