Two new MSI Cubi 3 Silent based on Kaby Lake-U processors

MSI has presented two new Cubi 3 Silent systems, which integrate Kaby Lake-U processors and passive dissipation, in a small system.

Compact computers are becoming popular among users, because they take up very little space, they offer an economical solution for those who just want to browse, office automation and the like. MSI has different solutions in this field and among them new MSI Cubi models are added, which offer great power through passive cooling. Specifically, the company has presented two new models, the MSI Cubi 3 Silent and the MSI Cubi 3 Silent S, two next-generation solutions, ideal, as we have highlighted, for multimedia, browsing and the office.

These two Cubi 3 computers make use of seventh generation Intel Kaby Lake-U processors, which offer support for two models of DDR4 RAM working at 2.133MHz, supporting a maximum of 32GB. These systems internally have support for storage through SATA 2.5 ”drives or M.2 drives with SATA and PCIe compatibility. The Cubi 3 Silent has four USB 3.0 ports, an RJ45 port, a DisplayPort and an HDMI 1.4, as well as an M.802.11-type 2ac WiFi card. The Cubi 3 Silent S model is slightly superior, offering two additional USB 2.0 ports, an additional RJ45, and a com port.

The processors that will be integrated have not been specified, but it is possible that Pentium Gold processors or some entry-level Core i3 processors will be implemented, with a fairly low TDP, since the cooling is passive. The two systems have dimensions of 156.96 × 69.5 × 110.2mm. Regarding the price of these equipment, we do not have data, but it is possible that the simplest model has a price of about € 400, to which we must add the storage unit, which we have to put it ourselves and the RAM memory, which either would be included.
