EH, a leading provider of PC cooling solutions, has introduced new Vector² water blocks. This time, they're models for the MSI TRIO and SUPRIM GeForce RTX 3090 Ti GPUs. This product series includes a dedicated GPU water block with an included aluminum backplate and an alternative nickel-plated backplate.
The EK-Quantum Vector² Trio RTX 3090 Ti D-RGB is a complete liquid cooling solution. They include a new Vector² water block, black anodized aluminum backplate and mounting mechanism.

Ek also produces water blocks for MSI
The third generation Vector cooling engine combines the jet plate with a 3D machined Plexi insert to improve flow distribution and thermal performance. It is still based on an Open Split-Flow cooling engine design, and has proven to be a superior solution for GPU water blocks. It features low hydraulic flow restriction, so it can be used with weaker water pumps or pumps running at low speeds and still achieve maximum performance.
All Vector² GPU water blocks use an 11mm thick copper cold plate with a direct mated acetal terminal and superior single o-ring design. A black anodized aluminum backplate is included, while the base of the water block is CNC-machined from nickel-plated electrolytic copper, and the top is glass-like cast acrylic.
D-RGB LED lighting is deployed along the longest edge of the water block to improve uniformity and brightness. The printed circuit board and diodes are hidden inside a clean aluminum extrusion.
The EK-Matrix7 standard
EK-Matrix7 standardizes product dimensions, including port position and spacing, making liquid cooling loop mounting easier and more intuitive. All Vector² products are fully compliant with the EK-Matrix7 standard on all axes, ensuring ease of integration and alignment with all other EK-Matrix7 products. This allows for perfect port alignment in both horizontal and vertical positions, meaning less time is spent planning the loop and bending the tubes, while allowing for an epic build as the end result.
EK-Quantum Vector² Trio Backplate
Each Vector² water block now comes with a black back plate. Also available in an alternative nickel backplate finish. Nickel-plated captive mounting screws are included to replace the original black screws. If the backplate has a new L-shaped profile that touches the base of the water block and encloses the entire GPU, to increase the cooling surface and improve heat transfer efficiency, it further increases performance.
To avoid any user error or second opinion, the backplate's captive screws are there to simplify installation to ensure the customer always uses the correct length.
Compatibility
The EK-Quantum Vector² Trio RTX 3090 Ti water blocks, backplates, and active backplates are compatible with MSI TRIO and SUPRIM RTX 3090 Ti GPUs. The individually addressable RGB LEDs are compatible with popular RGB sync technologies from major motherboard manufacturers. The arrow mark on the 3-pin D-RGB LED connector must align with the +5V mark on the D-RGB (addressable) header.
Availability and prices
The EK-Quantum Vector² Trio RTX 3090 Ti water blocks and backplates are made in Slovenia, Europe and are now available for pre-order through the EK online store. They are expected to start shipping in early July 2022.
