The Cemu 1.7.3 emulator will allow you to play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
The next version of the Cemu emulator, which emulates the Wii U console, will incorporate The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, although it will not be fully functional, but almost.
The creators of the Cemu emulator, which is capable of emulating the Wii U console on any PC, have achieved a new milestone, apart from allowing Wii U games to be emulated in 4K resolutions and that is that anyone who does not have the console, can use your emulator to play the new The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, Mario Kart 8 and even Super Mario 3D World.
Cemu in version 1.7.2 already had The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild installed, so to speak. This version on February 27 had an important drawback and that is that the game did not go beyond the menu, causing that when trying to play the game, the Cemu emulator crashed and threw you from the emulator. Version 1.7.3 that will be released on March 10 solves this problem and we can now play Zelda.
We will not be able to fully enjoy the game, but it seems that they are progressing in the integration of the game. There are still problems, since they are developing and implementing the game in Cemu and therefore it will not work correctly, which prevents enjoying a complete and stable game, as well as leaving the tutorial without loading a saved game. Although it should be noted that this implementation usually takes weeks or months, but in just two days since the launch of the Zelda for Wii U and Nintendo Switch, it seems that they already have the implementation in the emulator quite advanced, which is a success.
We are facing a great logo, since Zelda is the most attractive game on the Nintendo Switch right now. On the Nintendo hybrid console, it can be played at 720p and 30FPS when in handheld mode and at 900p and 30FPS when it is on the desktop base. The game is not optimized on the console, since users report stability and performance problems, accusing drop in FPS and jerks when they are playing, but curiously in desktop mode, since in portable mode it seems to work correctly.
The developers of this emulator have already announced that when the game is fully implemented and works 100%, they will implement resolutions up to 4K. To put the long teeth they have published a preview of the game, which has been run on a computer with an Intel i7 4790K, an NVIDIA GTX 780 graphics card and 8GB of RAM.
