The Government of Spain cuts the amount for aid to the video game industry
New lie from the Government of Spain, which has cut the amount of help for the national video game industry, going from 6.25 million euros to only 5 million euros.
Honestly, we did not expect less from the Government of Spain. The Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Agenda, had promised to allocate a game of 6.25 million euros to boost the video game industry in Spain, an industry that in recent years has grown a lot and has launched great titles, the most recent and the one that has been best received by gamers is They Are Billions, which was for several weeks in the top 10 best-selling games on Steam. Well, aid has been cut and more than 1 million euros have been lost along the way.
The Official State Gazette indicates that the item will remain at just 5 million euros, which represents a cut of 1.25 million euros, according to what the government said last January. So, small development studios will be left with less capital than expected, despite the fact that the video game industry is growing significantly. Funding is an important point and these grants allow these small studios that have to compete against the titans of the industry to work more comfortably.
'The maximum budget for the aid regulated in these bases will be 5 million euros. The amount of the aid will be 80 percent of the eligible budget, up to a maximum of 150.000 euros per beneficiary. The minimum amount of the eligible project submitted in application will be 20.000 euros'
In addition, the BOE indicates that a maximum of € 150.000 will be given for the project, which they have established that it should cover 80% of the financing, with a team of five people. In addition, the company must be older than six months, so a new study, recently created, will be excluded from this aid. The video game industry, unfortunately, joins research and many other sectors, which do not matter to the government.

This government always doing things just the other way around. Later they regret losing voters or even have the audacity to blame the opposition, but if they are they are the opposition!
