A fire at the BRIEF-Pine Technology factory, the global name for graphics card makers XFX, causes a factory shutdown and delayed orders.
Bad news comes to us from within the graphics card industry and it seems that there has been a fire in the BRIEF-Pine Technology company. Surely many of you do not know the company, but if we tell you that it is the XFX matrix and that the final assembly hall of the graphics cards has caught fire, things change a lot. This, according to our sources, will cause the delay, for a few weeks, of the arrival of new graphics cards with AMD GPUs, especially affecting the Polaris RX 570/580, which have stock problems.
The fire apparently started on June 25, in the morning and until the 27th it was not completely suffocated. Regarding the origin of the fire, there is no certain data, but its initial focus could be the offices of the research and development department located on the second floor of the building. The evacuation and the damages have not been total, but partial, therefore it is not bad news at all, but the damages of the fire amount to about three million direct dollars, indirect due to the fire are difficult to calculate.
We have to say, luckily, there are no deaths or personal injuries, everything has gone well. Logically this fire will cause problems to the production and the business of the company. This affects above all the Polaris, since a stock replacement was expected for the end of this week and the beginning of the next, in addition to the arrival of exclusive graphics for mining, but due to this accident, the arrival is delayed until the end of month. We must emphasize that XFX offers high quality graphics cards with the lowest cost in the market, which is why they are so appreciated. This could also affect the stock of AMD RX Vega, if at the end it is confirmed that they arrive at the end of the month, although we are not sure about this.
That is, they turned on some and did not have the air conditioning to cool the room.
