Facebook-gate: Ten New Zealand users who used the Cambridge Analytica App, served to collect data from more than 63.000 users of the social network in New Zealand

The numbers of the scandal of the largest data theft and largest privacy breach in history by Cambridge Analytica and Facebook continue to rise and the latest data is brutal.

New chapter of the Facebook and Cambridge Analytica scandal and we no longer know which one we are in, but things continue and it looks like it will continue for a long time. As you well know, the Facebook data of many users was stolen by the Cambridge Analytica consultancy. These days, even Mark Zuckerberg, creator of this social network, is giving explanations of how this massive theft of data could have occurred through an App for smartphone, called 'thisisyourdigitallife', which collected data from users and their friends users in the social network.

Initially it was thought that only data from the surveyed users was stolen, then only from the United States and now we are already in a pandemic. The number of affected has gone from 50 million users to more than 87 million users and the number seems to be growing. The scandal is such that 63.724 users have been affected in New Zealand, according to the latest data revealed, but the shocking thing is that only 10 users downloaded the survey. What a fabric.

It is not the only case of massive contagion with a minimum number of users who accessed the survey that has unleashed the greatest privacy vulnerability in history. It has been announced that 311.127 users in Australia have been affected, but this condition has its origin in only 53 users who used the happy application.

These figures make clear, the impact that social networks have today in daily life and as a privacy policy, extremely lax on the part of Facebook and the hard face of Cambridge Analytica, can end in electoral manipulation and in the theft of data from millions of users.
