The new Gigabyte motherboards are shown, with the H310 and H370 chipsets, which will provide a new range of motherboards, especially designed for the entry-level and mid-range.

A few hours ago we echoed that AIDA64 had added to its database support for new Intel chipsets, for eighth-generation processors. Right now we can only find Z370 chipset motherboards for these processors and they are expensive for entry-level processors like the i3 8100 and offer features and benefits that are not necessary for this processor, such as overclocking. The latest has been the filtration of Gigabyte motherboards for the mid-range and entry-level.

The first of them is the H370, which is a slightly trimmed version of the Z370 processor, and just below we have the H310, a chipset designed for simple motherboards that should be around € 400-70. The latter will be the most basic of all and will have limited connectivity and features, but more than enough for office automation, multimedia and also for gaming.

Gigabyte will also introduce AORUS modules with a simpler chipset, such as the H370, which will offer cheaper solutions with similar characteristics to the high-end. These motherboards are expected to support dual graphics card configurations and have additional connectivity.

They will hit the market later this month, according to some rumors, although others suggest that they could arrive in early April, along with new Coffee Lake processors, to combat the current Ryzen and AMD's Ryzen 2000 Series. Z390 motherboards should also arrive, designed for the high-end and to replace the Z370 motherboards, although we should not expect great improvements.

We must emphasize that this is to buy time while the 10nm Ice Lake processors arrive, which are expected for the second half of the year, possibly for the last quarter. These new processors should already be totally or mostly immune to Specter and Meltdown.
