Leaked the price of the AMD RX Vega and some Sapphire models

Possible leak of three models of AMD RX Vega from Sapphire and the possible price of these graphics cards in Europe, which if confirmed, could mean a resounding failure of AMD, not being able to match the success in the processor segment.

If a few hours ago we echoed the possible price of AMD RX Vega in Sweden, now it seems that the price of these graphics cards has been leaked in the European market. We must emphasize that three models of graphics card will reach the market, the most basic will be the one that each of the manufacturers will customize with their own heatsink and will be able to modify the PCB, the second will be the complete model with all Stream Processors and the last one a model more powerful than the previous one, with a liquid cooling heatsink to control the temperature.

The first model will be a version with liquid cooling, developed by AMD and which should reach the market without any modification. The second model will be the over-the-air model with factory overclocking and it will be a limited edition, although the heatsink is not specified, it will surely be the reference model and the last, the third confirmed model will be the factory AMD, without more.

Regarding the filtered data, we have relative prices, which should range between $ 700-900, which at the change and taking taxes into account, would be a price between € 725 and € 945, approximately. The margin for the final seller remains to be added, therefore the price could rise even more, starting from € 750 to around € 1000. If these prices are met and the benchmarks are what they are, we would be talking about a failure, especially considering that an NVIDIA GTX 1080 is around € 600, not counting consumption and temperatures in these cases.

We are very afraid in this case, that if in the end AMD does not surprise with a powerful graphics and ends up performing similarly to the GTX 1080, it is possible that AMD will give a serious bump. The truth is that this situation contrasts with the good moment that the company is experiencing in the processor segment, where it has finally managed, through modular processors, to stand up to Intel, with processors that perform well and have a very reasonable price. Is it performance issues that have delayed these graphics, trying to improve the performance of these Vega GPUs?

  1. I doubt very much that amd has put so much effort, to commit such idiocy, it must be smoke, it would be very strange.
