Gear 5 will have a gigantic level somewhere in the campaign. That's what the developers at The Coalition tell us.
This month Gears 5 is released, one of the most powerful games to come out this month. The developers have been promoting the game at various conventions like PAX in Seattle this Saturday. There they have given a curious fact about one of the levels of the game. Which will be the biggest that fans of the series will have seen to date.
Gears 5 will feature a gigantic map
One of their promises is that they want Gears 5 players to be able to start combat whenever they want rather than the game deciding. Rod Fergusson has commented that this will be achieved with a companion robot that can hide the player so that the enemies do not detect him. It will not mean that they will be able to avoid all combat and pass the levels, but rather that the player will be able to position themselves initially and then the battle will begin.
The other big addition is that the campaign mode maps will be huge. One of them promises to be nothing more and nothing less than fifty times bigger than any other map in the Gears of War franchise. It's a good number, but we hope it lives up to expectations and isn't just a huge empty stage for the purpose of bragging about this number.
Gears 5 arrives next week for PC and Xbox One. It will be available on Steam and in the Microsoft Store. That day we will know if the Gears of War franchise can regain its position as one of the most played multiplayer titles.
