Ghost Recon Breakpoint is an economic failure according to Ubisoft
This Tom Clancy title has not worked as expected. They had better Breakpoint sales from Ubisoft in mind.
Recently, Ubisoft has been giving the fiscal results of its last quarter to shareholders. Yves Guillemot has been explaining future plans and sales of past games. What concerns us now are the sales of its Ghost Recon Breakpoint title, which has not achieved the sales that the French company expected.
Breakpoint has failed to reach the public
Without specifying details or clarifying anything, Yves Guillemot has cataloged Ghost Recon Breakpoint as one of the company's economic failures this year. That means that although it has been able to end up being profitable between copy sales, microtransactions, merchandising and more, it has not met expectations.
The company itself has stated that several of the problems are that it is difficult to introduce a new game as a service knowing that it takes years to reach its peak and that they already have many such games; that the news of the game was not transmitted well, and that the game had nothing that made it special in the market and with that there was no interest in Ghost Recon Breakpoint. In addition, the game had numerous negative reviews and even Crowbcat, a youtuber who often compiles videos exposing the industry; took a video with all the technical problems of the game. Attached to microtransactions, the game came out with very little publicity, and if there was, it was bad.
Perhaps with the launch of the game on Google Stadia when the service begins in the coming months they will be able to get a little more money out of it, but having qualified it as an economic failure little more can be done so that it is not qualified as such and Ubisoft wants to put itself in march with another installment or support the game as a service for a few more years.
