Tags to find applications more easily
When adding labels, up to five different ones will be offered from the 150 that Google Play offers to choose from. In addition, Google asks that they only be changed when noticeable changes are made in the application, so changing them should not be common.
At the moment it is only a process that matters for the developers, without clear changes for users. However, this makes the Google Play suggestions better, which should lead to improvements in the recommendations. Due to the huge number of applications that are in Google Play, many of them abandoned and without support, very few will be those that have these tags and it would not be strange that developers end up forcing them to apply them and perhaps making space for tags.
