There will be many games for the Xbox One X that will be scaled to 4K and will not support native 4K

The lie of the Microsoft Xbox One X is uncovered, since it is confirmed that not all games will have native 4K resolution, in some it will be scaled and Microsoft will not indicate which ones will be scaled or native.

We have been saying for several days that at the hardware level it is impossible for the new Xbox One X to run native 4K titles and this seems to be being confirmed. If yesterday we already commented that Destiny 2 would be limited to 30fps in 4K, today the thing goes further. We must remind you that Microsoft, in its E3 conference commented that the console will be the smallest and most powerful ever manufactured and again and again it was insisted that it would be native 4K. This with a Polaris GPU and a Jaguar CPU, as much as they stretched the technology and as much as they reinvented gunpowder, was impossible.

Microsoft would have developed a new icon that would be installed in the upper corners of the games for Xbox One, Xbox One S and Xbox One X. Some titles would carry the Xbox One Enhaced label or the text 4K UltraHD. There is a third callsign, which will also be in the upper corner and will be the HDR text. Microsoft, after the conference given at E3, has explained what these icons are for and has made it clear that not all titles will work in native 4K.

That all Xbox One X titles were not going to run in native 4K was more than logical, especially in shooter games or where there are environments or particles that must be loaded, which is always a problem for graphics, since they are heavy. We are talking about games that are announced in 4K, but that this 4K will not be real, but scaled. There will therefore be two branches, games that really work at native 4K and others that will make use of scaling techniques to offer this resolution. Therefore, all titles that have the 4K UltraHD sticker do not have to be at 4K UHD resolution, they can be scaled.

Within the labels that the games will present, none clearly indicates that the game has a native 4K resolution or this scaled resolution and that Microsoft is more interested in deception. Therefore, given the opacity of Microsoft, we will depend on the data that the developers give us. The HDR label indicates that the game supports the HDR10 standard and that of the Xbox One X Enhaced, it means that it will take advantage of the power of the Xbox One X, but, we must bear in mind that the latter is not a guarantee that the resolution will be 4K and much less, native.

  1. the cpu of the xbox is similar 8 cores Silvermont of 2 GHZ does not have much performance

  2. Man, it's normal, what do people want for 499 euros, if only the player it has costs 150 euros 😀 and it comes with liquid RF inside, enough that with that price you can run all 1080p/60 games and 4k/60 games for a large part, quite a lot for a machine that has that.
