3DMark Time Spy will be the first benchmark to measure Ray Tracing in the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX
The first benchmark tool to announce official support for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX has been the 3DMark Time Spy, which will have a specific benchmark for Ray Tracing.
Until the moment of the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX we only know the data that the manufacturer has given us but until the first reviews start to jump, everything is a chimera. It has just been confirmed by UL Benchmarks, which was once Futuremark, has just announced that the 3DMark Time Spy will allow benchmarking with active Ray Tracing and that it will be offered on the same day that Microsoft's Windows 10 'Redstone 5' update arrives. which will officially be called Windows 10 Fall 2018.

The Microsoft update does not have a specific date but as soon as it arrives, the Time Spy will also be updated and we can begin to measure the new NVIDIA RTX in a more 'empirical' way.
Ray Tracing is implemented within the DX12 API through the DirectX Ray Tracing function that allows the rendering of light rays under Windows 10. This benchmark will take the whole game out of the rendering of rays and reflections in real time. The tool has a very clear technical limitation and that is that no GPU below the Volta GPU will be able to execute this test and that is that if we try it the screen will migrate to blue.
That said, it is reasonable to think that during the first days we will not see complete reviews, but will be with some games, those that are compatible and later we will begin to see the performance with the new games that are coming out and with the usual benchmarking tools. The problem seems to be developing and optimizing the software for these new graphics cards and the developers are rushing to provide solutions to users.
