AMD announces that it will allow Samsung to use its RDNA technology in the development of graphics for smartphones

An important agreement between Samsung and AMD has been announced, which will allow the South Korean company to use the IP of the American company.

A strategic partnership for the development of very low power mobile graphics IP has been announced by AMD and Samsung based on AMD Radeon technologies. This partnership is announced a week after the company introduced the Navi-based RX 5000 Series. This new architecture is based on the RDNA design, a new design that appears to be very innovative and for which we have no data. This agreement between Samsung and AMD is based on technologies and solutions to innovate in the mobile applications market, including smartphones.

The key terms of this agreement are:

AMD will license custom IP graphics based on the recently announced highly scalable RDNA graphics architecture to Samsung for use in mobile devices, including smartphones and other products that complement the company's product offerings.
Samsung will pay the license fees for AMD technology and royalties.
