AMD will stop producing the reference RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT, leaving only the models customized by the assemblers
The AMD RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT will no longer be produced and only the custom ones can be purchased by each manufacturer that works with the company.
Custom models of the AMD RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT should start arriving next week by assemblers working with the company. These new models will have better cooling systems and also some models, overclocking. Just that these graphics do not have the blower heatsink, it is already more than enough to be better. And it is that the assembler models have temperature problems.
Now thanks to the French medium CowCotLand, we know that AMD will no longer make the RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT. No, it's not that it stops producing its silicones, it's that it won't launch any more assembler models. This means that in the market we will only find models customized by manufacturers.
AMD RX 5700 and RX 5700 will be discontinued
This decision is not something new, AMD usually stops making their models when the custom ones arrive. Now everything will be to find the model, ASUS, MSI, Sapphire, XFX or another assembler that fits in terms of price and performance. Undoubtedly good news, that although it assumes that these graphics are more expensive, the improvement in heat dissipation, is surely appreciated.
So far we have seen the XFX THICC2, MSI EVOK, PowerColor Red Devil and ASUS RoG Strix (and I'm sure I left some). The one that has caught our attention the most is the monstrosity of ASUS. And it is that this graph with the RoG Strix heatsink will reach 2 035MHz, a monstrous frequency that represents an increase of 130MHz in Boost compared to the reference model.
As always, the better the heatsink and the higher the overclocking, the more expensive this graphics card will be. The simplest two-fan models, possibly without OC, may be the best solution. A graphics at a good price, with low temperatures and good performance.
