AMD says Big Navi will revolutionize 4K gaming

For weeks there has been talk of an AMD graphics card called Big Navi, which was finally confirmed by AMD CEO Lisa Su . Mithun Chandrasekhar, product lead for Radeon Technologies, has spoken about the company's new graphics cards, emphasizing that Big Navi will offer excellent performance at 4K resolutions.

Competition in the processor market has been intensified considerably by the arrival of the Ryzen 3000. The problem is that so far, the graphics card market is dominated with an iron fist by NVIDIA. It is said that the Big Navi will perform like an RTX 2080 Ti, but we must remember that this year the Ampere arrives, promising a brutal performance leap.

Big Navi will offer great performance in 4K

Chandrasekhar has explained why they have not yet launched their flagship. He highlighted that more than 90% of gamers play with 1080p and 1440p resolutions, noting that few play 4K. They initially released the RX 5700 XT aimed at 1440p resolutions, followed by the RX 5500 XT and now the RX 5600 XT for 1080p resolutions.

After highlighting this, Chandrasekhar said that "just as Ryzen revolutionized the processor market, this new graphics will revolutionize 4K gaming." Well, it's gotten a bit high, anyway. After being there, he stressed that "that is all we can say for now"

Rumor has it that Big Navi would have 80 Compute Units, which is equivalent to 5120 Stream Processors. It's basically twice as many Stream Processors as the current RX 5700 XT. We do not know if this graphics card will be based on 7nm or 7nm +. If it is based on the current lithography (7nm), it could go perfectly to the 400W of TDP, but if it is with the new lithography (7nm +) it could be adjusted on the 300-350W of TDP.
