Filtered in UserBenchmark a possible third generation Ryzen Threadripper

An unidentified processor is seen in UserBenchmark, which due to its characteristics, aims to be a 3rd Generation AMD Ryzen Threadripper

On July 7, the AMD Ryzen 3000 processors based on 7nm lithography were launched on the market. Said Zen2 processors are based on the so-called Chiplet, which separates the Northbridge from the cores. This structure will also be used in the third generation Threadripper and the EPYC Rome. Now a processor has been leaked in UserBenchmark that could perfectly be a Third generation Threadripper.

Whoever has found this processor is TUM-APISAK, who has leaked and reported on many AMD processors. Although the name that appears does not refer to the Threadripper, the socket does not lie. Having 16 cores and 32 threads we could think of the Ryzen 9 3950X, but this processor is SP3v2 socket.

What makes it a Threadripper is the SP3v2 socket, used in these processors. It also suggests that it is Zen2 due to memory latency. This latency is higher than the 2950-core Threadripper 16X, which suggests that it has more L3 cache and therefore is Zen2.

Regarding the frequencies of this processor are another good indication. This processor will work at a base frequency of 3.6GHz and in Boost mode it will reach 4.05GHz. We must emphasize that this processor is an engineering sample and the thing could be different in the commercial version.

Considering the Ryzen 9 3950X, it seems weird for AMD to release a 16-core Threadripper. The logical thing would be to start with 20 cores and go up to 32 cores. Thus leaving the beginning of the EPYC Rome that reached 64 cores. We could think of the Ryzen 9 3950X as a hybrid between Threadripper and Ryzen, marked as the seconds. Two processors practically equal in cores and price, would conflict.
