Frank Azor, Co-Founder of Alienware leaves the company to be Director Gaming at AMD

Bombshell by AMD, since it has signed Frank Azor, Co-Founder of Alienware, who has been with the company for no less than 25 years.

Over the past few years, we've seen Intel poach top talent from AMD with massive paychecks. This talent drain began with Raja Koduri , who helped develop Polaris and Vega. Now, AMD has announced a major acquisition: they've secured the services of Frank Azor.

Frank Azor may not be familiar to you, but he is the Co-Founder, Vice President and General Manager of Alienware. Frank had been with Dell for 25 years and is the designer of the Dell-owned Alienware gaming marl. Without a doubt, this signing is a bombshell and he will join AMD as Director of Gaming. We do not know what the functions will be, but it will surely focus on the development of solutions for gaming.

Wccftech reports that Azor will be under the command of Sandeep Chennakeshu, Executive Vice President of AMD's Computing and Graphics division.

Azor is well known within gamer communities. A transfer announced by him on his Twitter account when he published the written letter on the AlienwareArena website. In it he talks about his departure from Alienware and Dell, without specifying much more. It is now that we know what your new occupation will be.

What could Azor do at AMD?

In the first instance I have come up with something focused on SoC AMD for the next consoles. There is this possibility, but with his experience something else comes to mind. I think it takes more to develop a competitor for the Intel NUC. Intel's compact computers are selling well and AMD would be thinking of competing in this market. Be careful, this is an assumption, since there is no data on what its functions will be or what it will develop.
