Gigabyte publishes the schematic of the new EPYC Rome processors
Gigabyte released the Zen2 @ 7nm-based AMD EPYC Rome processor schematic and a list of new EPYC Rome processors.
On July 7th, AMD launched the Ryzen 5, Ryzen 7, and Ryzen 9 processors. Nothing is known about the Ryzen 3 and Threadripper processors, also based on Zen 2 at 7nm. Everything points to the EPYC Rome processors being the next to be released. Gigabyte has published the complete schematic of these new AMD processors on its website .
According to the AMD EPYC Rome diagram , these processors will have eight channels for DDR4 RAM. This means that each processor supports up to 16 DDR4 DIMM sockets. Because they are industrial-grade processors, they are compatible with RDIMM (Registered DIMM) and LRDIMM (Reduced Load DIMM). They will officially support DDR4-3200 in a 1 DPC (1 DIMM per channel) configuration and DDR4-2933 in a 2 DPC configuration.

The EPYC Rome are commercially called the EPYC 7002 Series and are based on the Zen2 @ 7nm architecture. These new processors offer support for PCIE 4.0, very useful in the professional segment. Regarding these, AMD offers support for up to 128 PCIe 4.0 lanes, which will allow to install a large number of PCIe 4.0 devices
AMD. According to a previous leak from the Eurasian Economic Commission it suggests that the EPYC 7002 family would have 19 models. At the moment only the specifications of nine of these processors have been revealed. Gigabyte has also been the one who has published the table, which has been eliminated by the company.
The simplest processor, the EPYC 7302 will be 16 cores and 32 threads with 128MB. The most powerful version will be the EPYC 7742, which has 64 cores and 128 processing threads and up to 256MB. The greater number of cores, we assume that the greater number of lines. These have not been specified by each of the processors.
