AMD-Intel: Market share of processors in SPAIN in AUGUST 2019 [EXCLUSIVE]

Sales data for Intel and AMD processors in Spain corresponding to last August 2019, with interesting changes.

This month, unfortunately, the issue of the sale of processors in Spain has been delayed a bit. We have had a delay in receiving the data, but we already have it and the month of August generated changes. Knowing the market share of Intel and AMD is always interesting, because it allows you to see how the two companies are doing. The Ryzen 7 arrived on July 3000, which did not finish impacting.

Things have changed a bit in the month of August and what we do not know is whether the trend will continue in the coming months. What has become clear to us this year is that Spain is very different from the rest of the market. In Germany, AMD has a market share of about 70% and in Japan about the same

INTEL PROCESSORS IN AUGUST 2019

Regarding the best-selling processors there is not much news. Intel is not launching processors and only markets processors under 14nm. The best seller has been the Core i7-9700K, closely followed by the Core i9-9900K. It seems that these two processors are the most popular.

The i5 9600K closes the podium with a share close to 13.5%. The fourth position is for the Core i5 9400F with almost a 13% market share. Intel's low-end remains uninteresting. Only the Pentium G4560 stands out, which has almost a 5% share, showing that it has not sold badly at all.

AMD PROCESSORS IN AUGUST 2019

Here there is a little more to scratch. We see that the Ryzen 2000 still have some pull and the Ryzen 3000 sell well. AMD this one has almost all the problems fixed from the new Zen2 @ 7nm processors. Perhaps these initial problems have weighed down sales a bit and people have opted for the Ryzen 2000. These processors are already very mature and prices have fallen to the beast.

The best seller is the Ryzen 5 3600, followed by the Ryzen 5 2600 at a fair distance. The third position is occupied by the Ryzen 7 3700X. Perhaps the most interesting data is that more than 12% of the processors sold by AMD are the Ryzen 9 3900X. APUs are not selling the slightest bit, none reaching 2% market share.

AMD-INTEL MARKET SHARE IN AUGUST 2019

Without a doubt this is the most interesting. In July, Intel's market share was slightly less than 53%, but this August things have changed. We see how in August AMD has achieved 54% of sales compared to 46% of Intel. This is a significant change as it steals more than 10% of Intel's market share.

Everything suggests that the trend will continue this September, leaving the problems behind. Competitive prices and good performance without a place help. What helps the most is that Intel is unable to release new processors at 10nm. It should be noted that these days people have begun to talk about problems of sourcing by TSMC, something that could be a problem for AMD.

CONCLUSION

The last time AMD beat Intel in market share was in January, around Christmas time, hands down. Since then Intel has moved between 52-60% market share. That the market has been turned around is great data for AMD, no doubt. We will see if the trend in our country continues in the coming months or if Intel is capable of reacting.
