AMD Plans to Outsource X670 Chipset Development and Manufacturing
This year has been the best year in AMD's history, hands down. The company has beaten Intel in the processor market and in the graphics market, it goes back. There is still a lot to improve in the graphics market, but RDNA's potential is important. But the company is already thinking about 2020 and continuing the good streak and the good moment.
Next year we should see the Ryzen 4000 series based on Zen 3 @ 7nm+. The company's new processors will use the same AM4 socket but with a new chipset. New motherboards with the X670 chipset are expected to launch, which will also support PCIe 4.0.

The company has designed the X570 chipset with a success that we could say questionable. This chipset requires active cooling due to PCIe 4.0 support. It is not being a major problem, because at the moment there are no problems with this. But the company has decided to outsource the development and manufacturing of its chipsets again.
For many years, ASMedia had been designing and manufacturing AMD chipsets. The company decided to dispense with their services for unknown reasons and things did not seem to have ended well. So now they could once again depend on ASMedia for the manufacture of their new chipsets.
There are even rumors that it has been ASMedia who has manufactured the B550 chipset that would soon reach the market. This new chipset will be designed for users who want cheap motherboards for the Ryzen 3000. A chipset that has been seen in specification sheets from both HP and other manufacturers.
Regarding the X670 chipset, no big news is expected in terms of performance. It will continue to have PCIe 4.0 and perhaps Thunderbolt support will be added, but little else.
