AMD Introduces 14nm FinFET-based Radeon Pro Vega for Laptops
Radeon Pro Vega solutions for laptops developed in 14nm lithography confirmed by AMD.
It is not the first time that we have heard about the Radeon Vega Mobile models that AMD presented at the CEs 2018, which have not yet been integrated into laptops due to their really absurd consumption. These graphics are based on a Vega 64 cut out and with only one HBM2 memory chip. Yesterday Apple already said that their MacBook Pro would carry Radeon Pro Vega graphics with HBM2 memory, but they said nothing more and now it is AMD who officially presents these solutions.
AMD gives all the data of the Radeon Pro Vega that we will see in Apple's MacBook Pro.

It doesn't sound like much and it really is a simple solution for notebooks intended for the professional segment.
For the record, only Apple will integrate these solutions and comments that they are up to 60% more powerful than the previous design. The MacBook Pro with this graphics solution will not hit the market until the end of November, so we will have to wait almost a month to see its performance.
No data have been given on the working frequencies, although it has been highlighted that they are based on the lithography of 14nm FinFET, they have not even gone to 12nm FinFET to control the very high energy consumption of these graphics and it is expected that the Radeon Pro Vega 20 has a TDP higher than 200W, which will have a very negative effect on the autonomy of the devices.
Each manufacturer uses the hardware that is on the market as it suits him best, but it does not seem very smart to use a solution that may or may not perform well at any given time, but that will affect autonomy in a very noticeable way and we will see how Apple controls heat, another negative point of these graphs.
