3000-core, 6-thread AMD Ryzen 12 performs better in a benchmark than the Ryzen 5 2600X
A benchmark of an AMD Ryzen 3000 with 6 cores and 12 threads is leaked that beats less frequently, the Ryzen 5 2600X processor.
Less than 48 hours remain until the unveiling of AMD's new Ryzen 3000 series processors by CEO Lisa Su. We know these new processors will be based on a Zen 2 design, where the Northbridge and die are separate. This allows for reduced costs and enables processors with up to 16 cores. A benchmark of these processors, specifically a 6-core model, has now been leaked on Geekbench. This processor, named "AMD 100-000000031-03," will have a base clock speed of 3.2GHz and a boost clock speed of up to 3.99GHz.

According to the software we know that this processor will have 6 cores and 12 threads. It will arrive with a base frequency of 3.2GHz and in Boost mode it will reach 3.6GHz. This processor will be accompanied by 3MB of L2 cache and 16MB of L3 cache.
This processor in Geekbench has obtained a result of 5061 points for a single core and 25481 points for all cores. We can compare it to the Ryzen 5 2600X with 6 cores and 12 threads working at a base frequency of 3.6GHz and reaching 4.13GHz in Boost mode. It scored 4711 points in a single core and achieved 22690 points in multicore.
We see how this new Ryzen 3000 with -140MHz has achieved a 7.5% more performance in single core and more than a 12% improvement in performance in multicore. It remains to be known if the working frequencies will be the definitive ones of this processor. It has been rumored that some models would reach 5.0GHz, but so far none of those seen reach that frequency. We assume that the TDP will be quite low when operating at 'discrete' frequencies and being 7nm.
