AMD Ryzen 5 2400GE and AMD Ryzen 3 2200GE, two new APUs with greatly shortened TDP
Officially announced by AMD, the new AMD Ryzen 5 2400GE and AMD Ryzen 3 2200GE APUs, which are characterized by offering high energy efficiency.
AMD APUs are an excellent solution for users looking for compact and inexpensive computers that allow them to play games. The AMD Ryzen 5 2400G and Ryzen 3 2200G have been very well received, despite the poor support that AMD is giving them. Well, AMD makes the Ryzen 3 2200GE and Ryzen 5 2400GE official, two new low-power APUs that were already seen in February through an ASRock BIOS update. They are lower consumption solutions, thinking of entry-level equipment and embedded equipment, above all.
These new solutions are characterized by their high efficiency, far surpassing the Ryzen 3 2200G and Ryzen 5 2400G. This is evident in the TDP , which drops from 65W in the current APUs to 35W in these new solutions. This reduction has been achieved through adjustments to the processor frequencies and likely by enabling a high-efficiency mode, depending on the workload.
If we look at the Ryzen 3 2200GE, we see that this processor has four cores and four processing threads, working at a base frequency of 3.2GHz and in Boost mode it can reach 3.6GHz. It is accompanied by a Radeon Vega 8 graphics, which has 512 Stream Processors working at a frequency, the GPU, of 1100MHz.
We move on to the Ryzen 5 2400GE, which offers four cores and eight processing threads, working at a base frequency of 3.2GHz and in Boost mode it can reach 3.8GHz. It is accompanied by a Vega 11 graphic which has 704 Stream Processors working at a frequency of 1250MHz.
