Filtered the benchmarks of the AMD Ryzen 3 3200G and Ryzen 5 3400G APUs
Filtered two benchmarks in Geekbench of the AMD Ryzen 3 3200G and Ryzen 5 3400G APUs, showing a slight performance improvement.
The new AMD Ryzen 3000 processors based on the Zen2 @ 7nm architecture are highly anticipated. But perhaps more than these promising new processors, many are looking forward to the new APUs. According to the data we handle, the new third generation APUs will be based on Zen + @ 12nm. Above all, they are excellent for users with tight budgets who want to play without the extra cost of a dedicated graphics.
Now new benchmarks of these new AMD solutions have been leaked for the entry range. They will be characterized by having a Vega 11 and Vega 8 iGPU. Discreet solutions for users who have little money to configure their system and want to play. For gaming 1080p @ 30FPS should be more than enough, in most cases.
Features of the new AMD APUs
The first one will be the AMD Ryzen 3 3200G. It will have four cores and four threads, with a base frequency of 3.6GHz and that can reach 4.0GHz in Boost mode. We will also have the AMD Ryzen 5 3400G, which will have four cores and eight processing threads. This processor will work at a base frequency of 3.7GHz and in Boost mode it will reach 4.2GHz.
These two processors will be characterized by having 2MB of L2 cache and 4MB of L3 cache. It will have support for PCIe 3.0 x8 and support for DDR4 @ 2933MHz. The two processors also share the TDP, which will be 65W.
For the AMD Ryzen 3 3200G the simplest iGPU has been implemented, the Vega 8 with 8 Compute Units at a frequency of 1 250MHz. The AMD Ryzen 5 3400G will be somewhat better thanks to a Vega 11 with 11 Compute Units running at 1MHz.
Performance of these new AMD APUs
We start with the Ryzen 3 3200G. This processor scores 39 points in OpenCL, which is great. Logically, the Ryzen 972 5G is a bit above, scoring 3400 45 points in the same benchmark.
Comparing the AMD Ryzen 3 3200G with the Ryzen 3 2200G, we realize that the difference is barely 4%. The Ryzen 3 2200G on this tool scores about 38 points. While the difference between the AMD Ryzen 445 5G and the Ryzen 3400 5G the difference is barely 2400%. Remember that the Ryzen 1.5 5G gives a score of 2400 45.
