Reddit user reports that his Ryzen 7 3700X processor has died

User reports on Reddit that his AMD Ryzen 7 3700X processor has died, just after being installed, but it doesn't seem to be a widespread problem.

Problems with the newer AMD Ryzen 3000 processors continue to grow. The current BIOSes are very green and there are problems with the RAM. There are backward compatibility issues due to the size of the BIOS. Destiny 2 does not work with these new Ryzen and some Linux distributions. Added to all these problems is a Reddit user who comments that his equipment is not working.

The user 'someguy50' you have bought the Ryzen 7 3700X and the MSI X570 A Pro motherboard. You have opted for one of the simplest motherboards and therefore cheaper. This user highlights that the assembly has gone without the slightest problem. But once the team has started it has started to have problems, until it has died.

Problems on the rise for the new AMD Ryzen 3000

He comments that the first thing I detect is that the voltage of the stock Ryzen 7 3700X processor was 1.4V to 1.47V. It emphasizes that it returned to the optimal defaults, to avoid problems. Then I pass the CPU-Z and the userbenchmark, where it got lower than expected results. He also comments that the Boost mode did not work well and that it was 'stuck' at 3.6GHz.

He kept trying things including updating the BIOS and trying different power plans, but it didn't work. Comment that I restore the BIOS and factory chipset settings. He comments that during the installation of the operating system the screen has gone black and nothing happens. It stands out that the led on the motherboard has lit up, indicating a failure in the processor.

Everything seems to indicate that this user has had quite bad luck and has had a faulty processor. These things usually happen, the guarantee is processed and herding. It does not appear to be a pattern as there are no more users reporting similar issues.

To speculate that this AMD Ryzen has been broken due to high voltage, the motherboard and the like is absurd. It could be that during manufacturing it was damaged, the factory silicon was faulty and undetected, or many other things. If it doesn't happen again, it will be a mere anecdote.
