AMD Ryzen V1000, a low-power solution for embedded systems

You can see a motherboard that integrates an AMD Ryzen V1000 processor, a very low-power solution, designed for embedded systems, especially for IoT and industrial solutions.

The year 2017 has been especially important for AMD, who has managed to return to the processor market through the big door and giving a lot to talk about. Above all, it stands out for the AMD Ryzen processors, but it has also launched specialized processors for the professional and server segment, such as the AMD Threadripper and AMD Epyc. The AMD Raven Ridge have arrived very recently and in April we will see the new Ryzen with Zen + architecture. They only lack one market, the market for SoCs, low-power, good-performance solutions, for which the Ryzen V1000 has launched.

The specialized website AdvenTech, shows a motherboard with an AMD Ryzen V1000 processor, soldered directly to the motherboard itself and that receives the preliminary name SOM-5871. This V1000 is based on Raven Ridge, but in this case developed on the Horned Owl base of the AMD R and G families, but updated. Regarding the technical characteristics of this V1000 processor, it is that it has a core and a thread, but there will also be versions of two, four and eight, but in this case they will be other SKUs.

This family of SoC solutions will carry between 1MB or 2MB of L3 cache and the consumption of these will range from 12W for the simplest to 54W for the most advanced. This SoC has an integrated chipset with I / O. The frequencies or graphic characteristics have not been specified, but it should carry Vega graphics that allows H.265 decoding and encoding, VP9 decoding and UHD support. This mini-ITX board supports a maximum of 32GB of dual channel DDR4-2400 / 3200 memory with optional ECC support.
