AMD would have the APU ready for the PlayStation 5 and would begin production shortly
Rumors appear that AMD would already have the APUs that will give life to the PlayStation 5 ready to begin mass production.
A few weeks ago, rumors began about the next Sony console, the PlayStation 5. Little do we know so far about this new console, except that, according to rumors, it should come out next year. It is possible that this new console will continue to sing with AMD processors. Rumors indicate that AMD would have developed a specific APU for this new console. According to the latest rumors, this new APU would already be in the production phase, so the PlayStation 5 would arrive earlier than expected

Everything indicates that Sony's new console would hit the market in the second half of 2020, never before. Logically, Microsoft would launch its new console very close to the launch of the Sony console. But PCGamesN highlights that the manufacturing phase of the PlayStation 5 would be entering a new phase of the process: the mass production of AMD APUs.
Although this information is coming now and may seem immediate, it is unlikely that AMD will produce them. Currently AMD is planning the launch of the Ryzen 3000, EPYC Rome and Navi, all in 7nm. They do not seem likely to produce any other type of silicon other than for these new products. Possibly the APU for the Sony console will not start production until the end of the year. Basically they would already have the silicon developed and ready to start producing it, without more.
How could it be otherwise, this APU will be based on the Zen architecture or what is the same, it will be an AMD Ryzen. The normal thing is that this new APU is based on 7nm lithography, to make it very powerful and efficient. What we don't know is which graphics silicon will implement this APU. There has been talk of a shortened version of Navi, but it is speculation that it may or may not be true. Only time will tell.
