Anthem creates bottleneck with Intel Core i7 8700K and high-end graphics

Detected a bottleneck in Anthem's FPS with the Intel Core i7 8700K, which makes the difference between high-end graphics minimal.

On Friday, the 'Vip Demo' of the Anthem title became available. There are many users and specialized media that have reported endless problems, failures and connection problems with the servers. According to Electronic Arts itself, this supposedly Beta version is the final version of the game. Many claim that instead of a final version of the game, it really looks like a Beta of this game. It seems that they will implement basic patches to get out of the way before launching the game and to correct errors with subsequent updates.

Anthem is a monumental botch

One of the main problems with the game is its performance. The specialized medium TechPowerUp has published benchmark with the Intel Core i7 8700K processor. This processor is characterized by having six cores and twelve threads with a base frequency of 3.7GHz and that can reach 4.7GHz in Boost mode. With a 1080p resolution a significant bottleneck is generated. This means that the better the graphics card, the less performance difference there is. These are the returns:

1920 x 1080p Ultra Quality

  • Radeon RX 590: 68 FPS
  • Radeon RX Vega 56: 82 FPS
  • GeForce GTX 1070: 84 FPS
  • Radeon RX Vega 64: 88 FPS
  • GeForce RTX 2060: 108 FPS
  • GeForce RTX 2070: 122 FPS
  • GeForce RTX 2080: 135 FPS
  • GeForce RTX 2080 Ti: 137 FPS

2560 x 1440p Ultra Quality

  • Radeon RX 590: 50 FPS
  • GeForce GTX 1070: 57 FPS
  • Radeon RX Vega 56: 62 FPS
  • Radeon RX Vega 64: 65 FPS
  • GeForce RTX 2060: 74 FPS
  • GeForce RTX 2070: 87 FPS
  • GeForce RTX 2080: 101 FPS
  • GeForce RTX 2080 Ti: 124 FPS

3840 x 2160p Ultra Quality

  • Radeon RX 590: 24 FPS
  • GeForce GTX 1070: 30 FPS
  • Radeon RX Vega 56: 33 FPS
  • Radeon RX Vega 64: 38 FPS
  • GeForce RTX 2060: 39 FPS
  • GeForce RTX 2070: 46 FPS
  • GeForce RTX 2080: 57 FPS
  • GeForce RTX 2080 Ti: 72 FPS

This is not much good news. The game has dropped graphically with respect to the E3 presentation. The positive may be that it came with NVIDIA DLSS technology from the beginning and in future updates it will implement RayTracing.
