Aorus AIC Gen4 SSD 8TB, the Gigabyte SSD unit that passes 15.000MB / s of reading and writing on the street

Brutal the new Gigabyte Aorus AIC Gen4 SSD 8TB drive, which offers us read and write speeds of up to 15.000MB / s.

A little while ago we reported on Gigabyte's M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD , and now we're reporting on another monster, also developed by Gigabyte. The company has created a top-of-the-line SSD, the fastest on the market. This drive is the Aorus AIC Gen4 SSD 8TB, a solid-state storage unit based on the PCIe 4.0 x16 interface. This drive allows for read and write speeds of up to 15.000MB/s.

Gigabyte Introduces Aorus AIC Gen4 SSD 8TB

This unit would be installed in the typical port for graphics cards and thanks to that it allows an outstanding performance. During Computex 2019, different benchmarks of this unit have been shown in the CrystalDiskMark tool. The drive has managed to reach 15.300MB / s in read and has reached 16.100MB / s in write. It's impressive data that triples the speeds of the latest PCIe 4.0 SSDs shown to date.

The Gigabyte Aorus AIC Gen4 SSD 8TB drive doesn't just perform impressively, storage capacity has also been thought about. This Aorus AIC Gen4 SSD 8TB, as the name suggests, has a capacity of 8TB of storage. To avoid a performance drop due to temperature, this unit has a blower type fan that is complemented by a special copper heatsink. To avoid a performance drop, the controller and memory chips must be efficiently dissipated.

It seems that the memory units to reach these transfer speeds would have high working frequencies and hence the generation of heat. We know that the PCIe 4.0 interface generates an increase in the generation of heat, since all AMD X570 chipset motherboards have a fan, because they have PCIe 4.0. To get the best performance we will need a Ryzen 3000 and an X570 motherboard.
