First benchmark of the Intel Core i9 9980XE processor in the 3DMark Time Spy that reveals a powerful processor as well as absurdly expensive.
Intel Coffee Lake Refresh processors have barely reached the market and Intel's problems to supply the market have been notorious since August and there are many products based on 14nm that they have on the market (until they arrive, some day, 10nm processors). The 14nm product family will soon increase with the arrival of the Skylake-X Refresh with more cores and more power, among which the Core i9 9980XE stands out, which will be the new flagship of the professional market and which has been seen in a benchmark.

We must add to this the benchmarks handled by an external company that claims to have been benchmarking for many years, but rather it seemed that they had not the slightest idea of what they were doing, with configurations that not even a monkey would do.
Returning to what concerns us, the benchmark of the Core i9 9980XE has been filtered which has given a result of 10.728 points in the 3DMark Time Spy processor test. The working frequencies of this processor are 3,0GHz base and it can reach 4,517GHz in Boost mode. The result is interesting and has a higher clock rate in Boost mode than the Core i9 7980XE.
Clearly this processor is slightly more powerful, it should be better thermally and the frequencies are somewhat higher than in the Core i9 7980XE. This processor with 18 cores and 35 threads of processing with a TDP of 165W will arrive with a price of $ 1.979, which is a stupid thing, but we already know that Intel with the prices usually freaks out a lot.
