The first 4GB DDR32 SODIMMs for notebook computers have been released, which are at an exorbitant price.
Recently some motherboards have received support for 128GB of RAM for gaming systems and up to 256GB of RAM for professional systems. This is possible thanks to the arrival of the first 32GB capacity RAM modules. Samsung was the first manufacturer to launch modules with these characteristics. The unregistered desktop DIMMs arrived in September. Now it seems that some users have detected laptops with 32GB DDR4 RAM SODIMMs.

It was on the NotebookReview forum where several users spotted laptops with 32GB of RAM in a single module. These modules have been made available to users. According to Joedoewoe, who purchased some modules, it has been confirmed that only Coffee Lake processors support them. To our knowledge, no one has tested them in SFF systems such as the Intel NUC or Zotac Magnus.
The problem with these units is that they're currently ridiculously expensive. There's only one listed, and it's priced at €449 , so buying them doesn't seem feasible at the moment. Now we just need to start seeing laptops with RAM modules of this capacity. It's a significant step for the industry, but for now, it's hampered by the exorbitant price of DDR4 RAM.
