The first data appears on the next AMD Ryzen 4000G APUs

The processor market is currently largely dominated by AMD and its high-performance solutions. It appears that the company is already working on new solutions that will hit the market shortly. As leaked by 'rogame' on its Twitter account, AMD is working on the Ryzen 4000G based on the Zen2 architecture. You will be the first APUs on the market based on 7nm lithography.

Currently Ryzen 3000G are based on 12nm lithography Zen + architecture, being the first to be based on the Zen2. Note that AMD often calls APUs after the next generation of processors. The same has happened in processors for laptops, a strategy that can be misleading.

The first data of AMD Ryzen 4000G APUs leaked

The leaked data does not show the number of cores and threads of these new processors from the company. One of the characteristics of these processors is that they have a TDP of 25W, something that would only be possible thanks to being based on 7nm. These new processors may come with more cores and threads than the company's current APUs.

Inside the tweet we find that the processor works at a frequency of 3.0GHz, which would equate it in performance to the Ryzen 5 4600U and Ryzen 7 4700U. The iGPU data is also unclear, indicating only a frequency of 1.2GHz. This frequency would be lower than the RX Vega Mobile of 6 Compute Units of Renoir architecture.

This new processor is codenamed 'Artic' based on a specific motherboard from AMD. Perhaps 'Artic' refers to a new chipset or the name of these new APUs, it is not very clear. Another interesting fact is that it has support for DDR4-3200 RAM, which would confirm that it would be a desktop APU. These APUs are likely to be compatible with AMD 300 Series and 400 Series chipset motherboards through a simple firmware update.
